«Halte à l’enfumage!»
Literally, “No more smoking-out”, but it means “No more trickery”.

Paris, les Champs-Élysées, mai 2013 (Fernando asked me 10 random facts about myself : as a journalist, I worked for the newspaper “Causette” is my third one — a french feminist newspaper held by two men, you can see its front page in the background here. Now their photographer is pretty good!).

«Le Capital mourrait si, tous les matins, on ne graissait pas les rouages de ses machines avec de l’huile d’homme.» Jules Vallès.“Big Capital would die if, every morning, we did not grease the cogs of its machines with man’s oil.”
A fontaine Wallace in Montmartre, place Émile-Goudeau, avril 2013.

Sir Richard Wallace was an Englishman. During the terrible 1870 war, instead of taking refuge in his country, he stayed in Paris to help the Parisians thanks to his inheritance (he was the illegitimate child of a rich man). He did help a lot. Plus, after the war, in 1872, to avoid that whoever can again be lacking of drinking water in Paris, Sir Richard offered 50 fountains to the city (made by Charles-Auguste Lebourg). More than 100+ now, they are 2,71 meters and give permanently a thin trickle of drinking water, useful for the homeless people and for the tourists.
This one is ironically situated in Montmartre. Ironic because the Sacré-Cœur, Montmartre iconic church, was exactly built to celebrate the bloody repression of the Parisian people during the Commune, in 1871.

The 24 Hour Project: on March 23, 2013, over 65 photographers from around the globe shot during 24 hours non-stop their city — our world (Twitter feed, FaceBook page).

Sorry for my FB & EE contacts who already saw them.

“Reading was my escape and my comfort, my consolation, my stimulant of choice: reading for the pure pleasure of it, for the beautiful stillness that surrounds you when you hear an author’s words reverberating in your head.” Paul Auster.

Clok @ Paris

Avatar Hi! Daily feed, mostly street photography from Paris, France.

Mobile and DSLR shots are mixed (for my square mobile shots, take a look on my Instagram’s account, @clok_moitie Instagram). You can check my EyeEm one too, Clok. And I (try to) gather all the stuff on Flickr : clok_moitie

Click on the colored or underlined words for more (website, app).

I don’t subscribe Tumblr streams fed automatically from another social network. I do prefer human exchanges!

Photos are all mines, not free, and protected.
I reblog very few, always by keeping the link back to the photographer site (reblogs are deleted after one day). Please, do the same for me by keeping the link back to my site. You may not reblog my work and link it back to your own site.

I’m on Facebook too.

Take a look too on the main themes, just below (above on the mobile theme, follow the arrow next to profile pic):
